What is eProcurement?
Electronic procurement, commonly known as eProcurement, is the automation and management of the procurement process. It involves creating a shopping environment that is intuitive and enhances the shopping experience.
Where is U●Buy?
Requisitioners access U●Buy through SAP transactions for creating requisitions.
What will be ordered through U●Buy?
Most medical, research, office, and commonly procured goods will be contracted and available through U●Buy.
Capital Equipment, Sole Source purchases, P-card, Service/Maintenance, and Bids will continue to use the same processes in SAP.
Why did we implement this system?
From an institutional perspective: Transforming our business process to eBusiness is an important part of an overall strategy for reducing costs and being more efficient. We expect that employees who use the system will find it faster and easier to create requisitions and place purchase orders. Access will be available to a number of online catalogs for UAMS’ most frequently purchased items, which will reduce ordering errors and increase efficiency.
How will U●Buy help me do my job?
If your job involves placing requisitions for your department then U●Buy should help you by making your procurement and approval tasks easier, faster, and more compliant. In particular, you’ll be able to locate the best pricing with our catalog suppliers, find items on contracts, save frequently purchased items as favorites, and more.
How will U●Buy work?
With U●Buy, you will shop our eProcurement platform, using the shopping cart system to create carts to send to SAP. You have the option through the cart to have a complete requisition upon the transition back to SAP. The release strategy and purchase order creation will still occur in SAP.
When will U●Buy affect me?
U●Buy will go live on Nov. 18, 2015. We have training scheduled beginning on Oct. 20, 2015. After the go-live date, training will be included in SAP requisitioner training.
