Mandatory State Contracts
Mandatory State Contracts are contracts between a vendor and the State of Arkansas which extend to all state institutions, including UAMS. As the name implies, when an item is available through a Mandatory State Contract, it is mandatory to procure that item through use of the contract, provided the need for the item (e.g., quantity) aligns with the contract terms (e.g., order minimums). A list of current Mandatory State Contracts is available on the Office of State Procurement website.
State and Co-op Contracts
The use of cooperative contracts are limited and require pre-approval of the Office of State Procurement [OSP]. If any UAMS department anticipates the procurement of goods and services through any cooperative contract the department must pre-plan and include the Procurement or Contract office in advance of the request and prior to commencement of any work/service or purchase of goods. Contact the Procurement or Contract office for guidance.
